NYT Article about “Success Charter Schools” in New York

This is a very interesting article that is consistent with some of the things that we have been saying in our columns. I was most struck by the report that some students would “wet themselves” during tests because of the pressure and not wanting to lose time for the test by taking a bathroom break.

We would love to hear from you. Is it worth it? Is it worth putting our kids (and teachers) through this kind of stress and demand for good school grades? There are few – if any – reports to suggest that these types of demands make the students into better adults. So is it really worth it?
